Abstract:
The death of Salvador Rivas-Martinez is an inesti-mable loss to me and to the academic community. It is not my intention to outline his many, high-quality scientific papers on vegetation science, plant sociology, plant ecology, phytoclimate, and phytogeography. Sure, his scientific production is a benchmark for sev-eral researchers from different fields worldwide.
