Abstract:
Tracing the memory of a leader is a task that causes a double feeling. The honest awareness of offering an appropriate tribute to those who have been the source of teachings, not only of scientific kind, is in fact mixed with the awareness that none of the varied skills and traits of the personality that you want to outline will emerge from the limited space of a few lines. In the case of Prof. Salvador Rivas-MartÃnez, for many years chair of Botany at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Complutense University, this task appears even more demanding, given his inclination to stay away from anything was rhetorical and celebratory. The frankness and a friendly and direct tone were a typical feature of his way of being, not only in academia but also in the broader context of social life.
